2009: A Wrap Up
Looking back over the last 7 months, I was pleasantly surprised to see that as a newly elected Chamber Committee, we had achieved a significant amount. As
a committee made up of local business owners/managers, we are totally committed to promoting economic development in Nambour.
Some of the achievements in 2009 include:
- Internal functions and processes: We started by tiding up some internal functions, focusing on Position Descriptions, roles and responsibilities. Our Business Plan will be finalised
in January 2010.
- Sunshine Coast Chamber Alliance: We joined with other local Chambers to form the Sunshine Coast Chamber Alliance. The alliance provides a regional voice for our members.
Visit
their website for more information.

- Regular Meetings: Sponsorship opportunities: Networking functions: Business and Community: Inaugural Festival of Fashion: Business workshops: Collaboration: Nambour Lights Up: Support
Local Business Campaign
Finally, something to think about over the Christmas and New Year period: volunteering. Do you volunteer your time or have you thought of doing so as a way of giving back to the
community?
Joining one of the many committees within the broader Nambour community is a great way to support your local community, local business, and get your voice heard.
At the Nambour Chamber of Commerce we’re always looking for enthusiastic people to help in various chamber & community sub-committees. For example, volunteers can help with
the Nambour Lights Up program, Nambour Alive! Festival, Back to Nambour Festival, as well as other special & ongoing events.
If you’re interested in volunteering opportunities within your local area in 2010 please start by calling Brendan O'Reilly on 5476 0811.
Thank you for your support though out the year and wishing you a happy and safe time over the Christmas and New-year break.
Until next time, good business to you!!
Regards

your issues are and what you need.
